FAQ
This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
Eeek! I'm so excited for YOU! You're going to love it, I promise! You should know that you can ask me literally anything. This is an experience for you and you should be comfortable and confident going in! I am 100% available to respond to all of your questions!
What should I wear?
Your outfit is 100% going to set the tone of YOUR photos! I recommend sticking to neutrals, and nothing with a busy pattern. If you want light and airy photos, dress light and airy. If you want to have some dark contrast, dress in darks. Want an earthy vibe? Go for greens and browns.
For families: I HIGHLY recommend that you search Pinterest or Google for "neutral family photoshoot color schemes." Need advice? Ask me!
How many pictures will I receive?
You will receive the amount of edited photos as described in your package. We may pose for photos that just don't make the cut. That's okay! Please be assured that I am going above and beyond to deliver you the very best photos from your session.
Will I receive more than the listed amount of photos?
I will always provide the very best images from your session. Additional photos in your gallery are possible, but not guaranteed.
Are you available outside of the Parishville area?
Yes! However, there will be an additional travel fee for most sessions outside of the 20 miles radius. Don't be afraid to ask though, I hope we can work something out!
Can I withdraw my session from being posted publicly?
Absolutely. If you are hesitant about your gallery being public or posted on social media, just let me know! We can opt you or members of your gallery out!
I have a question about my session after receiving my gallery, what should I do?
Please, please, please come to me with any and all questions that you have! I want to make you happy and want you to have photos that you love!
How will I receive my images?
All images will be delivered via Pixieset. Client will receive a link and a private download code. Gallery must be downloaded within 1 month of delivery. A USB of gallery is available for an additional $50.
What does my payment cover?
The payment for your session covers so much more than just the time allotted for your session. Fees cover: travel (including gasoline, vehicle maintenance, time spent traveling, time spent packing and caring for equipment,) session time, time spent editing, equipment maintenance, computer program fees, office supplies, time spent on education, education fees, new equipment, taxes, business expansion, etc. At the end of all of this, I am able to contribute a small amount directly to my family's income, and for that we thank you.
Why does a newborn session cost more?
I have emerged myself into online training for newborn sessions. I shoot "lifestyle newborn" sessions, meaning parents included and less wrapping and props. This session is designed to capture your sweet baby in a more natural way. These sessions take place at my in-home studio. The price of newborn sessions includes all time needed to prep and clean with non-toxic, baby-safe supplies, the extensive editing process that newborn photos require, and extra time and patience to make your little one cozy and safe!
Do you have a studio?
I have began photographing in my home. I have a beautiful guest bedroom on a separate level of my home. I extensively clean this space with low-tox. cleaning supplies and laundry detergent. I do have two pets in my home, if you have allergies to dogs or cats, please be aware.
Please no additional attendees for your sessions.
I reserve the right to decline studio sessions.
Why do you shield children's faces in your posts?
Committing to not posting children’s faces online isn’t always easy. It’s especially hard because all of my clients have THE cutest kids!!! I could probably grow my pages quicker and would have much more content to post (I typically avoid masking their faces and try to post photos where they’re turned away.)
Here’s why I do it: I don’t post my own child’s face online. (And I have many reasons, mostly personal, for doing that.)
Public pages like mine make sharing, screenshotting and saving so much easier. I want to keep your babies smiles from my screen to yours, only.
I respect any parent’s decision to post online, I love keeping up with my friends and family and seeing their babies faces grow. YOU know what’s best for your family, I truly believe that.
Having littles in front of my camera is my favorite too. (After all, I did spend years and tens of thousands of dollars studying to be an elementary teacher!)
